Come one, Come all….!

The Halifax Area Historical Society will be hosting the 17th Annual Belsnickel/Christmas Parade on Saturday, December 7, 2019.  We are inviting individuals, groups, floats as well as businesses to participate.  Continuing with the festivities for this year, the theme will be the “225th Anniversary Celebration of the Halifax Area.”

Registration will be at 11:00 a.m. at the Band Stand at the Halifax Memorial Park.  Parade will form at 11:30 a.m. and will start promptly at Noon.  Parade participants will be given a “free hot dog ticket” which can be used after the parade at the Halifax VFW at Second and Market Streets.

A $500.00 Premier Sponsorship is available. If you are interested, please contact Shannon Jones at 717-877-7886 immediately.

Cash donations/sponsorships would be greatly appreciated to offset the cost of giving prizes to the parade participants.  Sponsorship levels are $300.00 – Platinum, $200.00 – Gold, $100.00 – Silver, and $50.00 – Bronze.  Sponsorships will be acknowledged the day of the parade as well as a thank you in a future “Halifax Area Historical Society Gazette” and “The Upper Dauphin Sentinel”.

Gift baskets and gift cards will also be needed for the raffle table.  We welcome all types of donations, including baked goods.  We are a 501(c)(3) organization; therefore, your donations are tax deductible.  Checks can be made payable to “Halifax Area Historical Society” and mailed to Third and Market Streets, Box 562, Halifax, PA  17032.

In order to accommodate the increase in participants and visitors, the parade venue will be held at the Ginter-Koppenheffer VFW at Second and Market Streets. A lunch and bake sale will be available during and after the parade.  Carol Stoneroad, Corresponding Secretary, will read the “Pennsylvania Dutch Night before Christmas” by Chet Williamson.  The prizes will be awarded afterwards to be followed by the raffle drawing. Of additional note, the VFW will be hosting a breakfast with Santa until 11AM on this same day.

Please take a few hours of your day and help us keep the history of our area alive and support the Halifax Area Historical Society in whatever way you can.  Ask your family and friends to join you at the parade.

For more information or to register or donate, you may email or call Shannon Jones at 717-877-7886 or the Society at 717-896-8010.

                                                          With Sincere Appreciation,
