On Saturday, May 18th, 2019 Halifax Communities That Care will partner with the Halifax 225th Anniversary Committee to host our first annual Halifax Day of Caring. This project is designed to bring together volunteers from across our community to clean-up and beautify our hometown.
Proposed activities include: Trash Pick-up, Park Clean-up, Light Landscaping, Car Wash and the featured celebration project – designing, building, planting and delivering flower planters to the streets of Halifax.
Companies, Organizations and Clubs that provide 6 or more active volunteers for the day will have their Company, Organization or Club names included on the volunteer t-shirt design. A continental breakfast, lunch, light snacks and beverages will be provided on the Day of Caring.
This 1st annual Day of Caring is in honor of Michael L Bower, Business Manager for the Halifax Area School District for 20 years and President of the Halifax Communities that Care for 18 years. Michael loved his hometown of Halifax and worked tirelessly to help build our community for a better future. This day of caring is to honor his vision of giving back to the Halifax Community.
